Shougang Guiyang Special Steel Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Shougang Guigang, GSS Drilling Tools Co.,Ltd), formerly known as Guiyang iron and steel plant, was founded in 1958. On September 12, 1958, the first round steel with a diameter of 24 mm was produced, ending the history of non-steel production in Guizhou. In 1964, the state adjusted the industrial layout, accelerated the construction of “three lines” and expanded it into Guiyang Steel Plant. In 1998, it was changed into a company system and renamed Guiyang Special Steel Co., Ltd. In July 2009, with the approval of Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and provincial government, Shougang Group reorganized its holding of Guigang and renamed it as Shougang Guiyang Special Steel Co., Ltd. In August, the relocation project of Shougang Guigang was started. In July 2016, all the plants were relocated to the “New Special Material Recycling Economy Industrial Base” in Zhazuo Town, Xiuwen County, Guiyang city, Guizhou province.
